Maryland Innovation Center

Your one-stop shop for success.

An initiative of the HCEDA, the Maryland Innovation Center (MIC) provides the space, mentorship, knowledge, and connections to help companies from over 18 industries disrupt the marketplace, develop their ideas, and discover the right pathways for their business goals.

Dedicated to developing a community of innovation in the Baltimore-Washington corridor, the MIC provides an ecosystem of support to new and existing entrepreneurs. The space offers 63,000 sf across 5 floors, including such amenities as a 150-person conference/event space, additional conference and meeting rooms, breakout spaces, a video studio, and podcast studio.

Combining in-house expertise with established technology and business leadership resources, the MIC has a dynamic network of world-class Entrepreneurs in Residence and partners focused on giving entrepreneurs what they need to reach the next level. Whether developing a product or customer base, seeking capital or the guidance to scale, mentorship at the MIC helps members create value, communicate their edge, and chart a course for long-term achievement.

Today, many of the companies located at the MIC are small, minority, and veteran-owned business enterprises, so their perspectives are diverse and their offerings are, too. The MIC’s Business Revitalization Initiative Through Entrepreneurship program—or BRITE—provides underrepresented businesses with the coaching, mentoring, and technical training needed for entrepreneurial success.
