HCEDA’s Financial Program Analyst, Darshni Patel Professional Development Highlight

In January 2019, Darshni Patel, HCEDA’s Financial Program Analyst, has been appointed as Student Ambassador and selected to serve on the Penn State World Campus Student Advisory Board. The Student Advisory Board receives hundreds of applications annually and Darshni was one of more than 30 students selected to apply to this unique leadership and professional development opportunity. Darshni is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Public Administration through Penn State World Campus and received her undergraduate degree from Penn State Harrisburg. She intends to graduate in December 2019.
The Student Advisory Board is an extension of Student Affairs whose members advocate on behalf of the student body, propose changes and policies to improve the overall online learning experience at Penn State World Campus, and provide important resources to current and prospective students. Darshni’s unique skillset and experience she’s developed through her role as the Financial Program Analyst with the HCEDA will make a great addition to the Student Advisory Board.
Darshni views her role to the Student Advisory Board as a civic-duty and looks forward to helping prospective students connect to relevant resources, providing advocacy on behalf of students to create positive change, and gaining various perspectives from working in a diverse community of peers.
The HCEDA team looks forward to Darshni representing Howard County and the HCEDA in this position. A big congratulations goes out to Darshni Patel from HCEDA for her special and significant accomplishment at Penn State World Campus.
