Columbia, MD [3.19.2018] – Howard County based VitusVet has secured two new partnerships with The Pet Vet clinics and California-based Indo American Veterinary Medical Association (IAVMA). VitusVet is a national pay-for-performance digital solution for veterinary practices and the leading electronic medical records platform for pets and pet owners.

VitusVet was a longstanding tenant of the Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship and recently moved into the Columbia Gateway Innovation Center. Under the terms of its new of partnership, VitusVet will offer IAVMA members exclusive pricing, service, and product features.

“IAVMA was searching for a technology platform that is as innovative as the professionals in their practices” said Dr.Kanwaljit Mann, IAVMA president. “Our primary goal is to make pet healthcare simple and affordable for our customers and VitusVet solution provides vets and pet parents efficiency and convenience.” Dr.Mann’s practice, the Aborn Pet Hospital, will be among the initial group of practices.

The Pet Vet is an in-store pet clinic that resides inside participating Petco’s across the nation. Following a successful beta-test in two Texas Petco locations, VitusVet and The Pet Vet initiated a country-wide partnership. Under the terms of the partnership, VitusVet’s electronic medical records will be accessible to the pet owners who take their animals to The Pet Vet clinics. Additional clinic openings are expected through 2018.

“The reason we chose to work with Petco to provide veterinary services was to expand Petco’s offering and to reinforce the value of a one-stop shop within facilities,” said The Pet Vet hospital founder, Dr. Danny Cox. “Furthermore, our partnership with VitusVet reaffirms that mission, and complements our other offerings with an accessible app that helps customers care for their pets in the most effective way possible.”

VitusVet CEO Mark Olcott responded to the recent press saying, “we’re very grateful for all the help that the Howard County Economic Development Authority has given us throughout our journey, and we couldn’t imagine a better home than the new Gateway Innovation Center.”

“We are proud to see VitusVet having continued success following its graduation from the MCE,” said HCEDA CEO, Lawrence F. Twele. “As a tenant of the new Columbia Gateway Innovation Center, we are excited to see them grow and expand its business in what will become the next great regional center of innovation.”
VitusVet continues to cultivate its relationship with the MCE, and has plans to continue expanding the functionality of its application while at the Gateway Innovation Center.
