Howard County Development Plans – Interactive Map

  • This interactive map is publicly available through a online data download repository developed by Howard County Government’s Department of Technology and Communication GIS (Geographic Information System) division. This tool enables users with the ability to search newly submitted plans and waivers by address, date range, sign code and more.

Howard County Department of Planning and Zoning – Development Monitoring System Report

  • This annual report covers development activity in the County during the past year.  It also includes a summary of development trends over the past five years. The development monitoring system was put in place as part of the County’s Adequate Public Facilities Act (APF) adopted in 1992. The purpose of the APF law is to provide a growth management process that will enable the County to provide adequate public schools, roads and other infrastructure in a timely manner while achieving General Plan growth objective

Construction Report

  • Development in the County is tracked on a daily basis. This report provides monthly updates on the development process and tabulates new residential construction by unit type based on use and occupancy permits. Population is also estimated based on the number of housing units.

Housing Sales: 2002-2016

  • This report summarizes housing sales since 2002, showing sales trends over time including sales prices and the number of sales.
